Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Editorial Policies
Articles may be submitted for publication that describe original research, short communication, case report, comments, opinions and review, letters to editor and special reports. All articles must be submitted to the Pakistan Journal of Neurological Surgery by mail on admin@pakjns.org.
Authors must indicate in their cover letter that the work submitted has not been published or has been submitted for publication elsewhere, with the excep-tion of the abstract.

Authors are requested to follow PMDC guidelines given below.
Manuscript Formatting
Submit manuscript, tables and illustrations on by Email. Define abbreviations at their first appearance and do not use at all in the title or abstract. Use generic names of drugs. Number reference by their first appe-arance in the text and cite them by that subscripted number. The original article must be under the follow-ing heads:
Title must be brief and contain no abbreviations.
Abstract of no more than 250 words containing no abbreviations, and should describe the background and purpose, methods, results and conclusions.
Key Word: Indicate title, difficult words / Relevant important words.
Introduction should briefly state what was studied and why, including its relationship to previous work in the field especially previous 10 years international lite-rature.
Material and Methods should contain the place of the study, patient population and the methodology of the study in detail technique, procedure / investigation cle-arly explained.
Results include the results of your study only. No comparison should be done in this section with other studies. This should include tables, graphs, figures etc.
Discussion includes the comparison of results with other studies, interpretation of results and discussion on the topic as a whole.
Conclusion may be included to briefly summarize the net result of your study.
References should be listed as they appear in the text. It should contain the name of the authors, source with its volume, number, year of publication and the page numbers.
Case Reports: Studies of more than 5 patients is con-sidered as original study. If the number of patients is 4 or less it is considered as case report.
Review Article may be on any subject reviewing the literature in its past, present and future aspects.
Editorial may be on any topic and it may or may not be related to a scientific research.
Experimental Work includes the work done in labo-ratory or on cadavers or animals.
